Hafsah Aneela Bashir & Isaiah Hull: Rewriting Longsight
Join Manchester Literature Festival for the premier performance of new commissions from two of the region’s fastest rising poetry stars, Hafsah Aneela Bashir and Isaiah Hull.
As part of recent Writer in Residence initiatives in Longsight, they have composed new work responding to conversations with local people, and research into the area’s history and changing demographics. Hafsah wowed audiences at last year’s Festival with the launch of her debut poetry collection The Celox and the Clot, and is currently a Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellow. Isaiah’s debut collection Nosebleeds, a witty and acerbic exploration of urban life, is published by Wrecking Ball Press, and his stage appearances include the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend. Presented in partnership with Manchester Libraries.
