Experience Saturday night out in a Congolese village through to the ramblings of Ishtar, Mesopotamian Goddess of love, beauty, war, and political power. Explore historical links to Manchester’s refugee artists and communities, and experience the museum in a whole new light.
Performances are free, last approximately 40 minutes, and are preceded by fabulous music from Egypt, the Gambia and beyond, and crafty fun for the kids; all part of Journeys Festival International’s Manchester Museum Takeover.
Flying Carpets is a family-friendly performance created and performed by artists new to the region and directed by Cheryl Martin. It is produced by Community Arts North West in partnership with Manchester Museum, Journeys Festival International and Rethink Rebuild.
